Vaginal Tightening

One of the fastest developing options of cosmetic surgery is genital area aesthetic surgery. There are many names to describe the operations performed. One of the most common terms is vaginoplasty, ie vaginal rejuvenation or constriction. Vaginoplasty or Vaginal constriction, in Turkish, to restore the vagina, whose structure changes depending on age or birth, is the name given to all surgical procedures to rejuvenate.

Vaginoplasty is a procedure to tighten the muscles forming the vagina and reshape the external genitalia. Surgery is planned according to the size and type of the problem. Not only can the outer lips be intervened, but also the vaginal muscles can be intervened and the vagina narrowing can be added.

The aim of the application is to eliminate the deformed appearance of the female genital organ and to comfort the person from a hygienic point of view and to give an anomomic and aesthetic appearance. It is also to give better strength or control to the muscles, which can provide greater satisfaction for the woman and her partner during sexual intercourse. This procedure is used to correct genetic vaginal deformations, not just deformities that may occur after birth or advanced age.

What is Vagina?

The vagina is a flexible tube-shaped structure with an average length of 9 cm wrapped with muscles on the outside and covered with mucous membranes. Above is a uterus called the uterus, which is closed and there is a small canal that opens into the uterus. The lower part continues with the inner lips and opens outwards.

It has three main functions:

  1. By taking the penis inside, it carries male reproductive secretions into the uterus.
  2. It provides the discharge of menstruation secretions.
  3. It expands during delivery and mediates the baby’s exit from the uterus.

What is the reason for the enlargement of the vagina?

Although the main reason for vaginal enlargement is the high number of births, some women have vaginally loose vaginal structure and weak vaginal muscles before giving birth. In this case, some muscle strengthening exercises may be useful. Muscles in the vagina are very weak during normal birth. The incisions in the mouth of the vagina reduce the muscle strength even more so that the baby passes smoothly during delivery. As the number of births increases, it becomes more difficult for the vagina to regain its former form. ıt is necessary to perform vaginoplasty if these exercises do not achieve sufficient tightening.

The vagina is composed of mucosa inside and there is a flexible connective tissue under it. There is a smooth muscle layer on top of this structure. These muscles are elastic and play a role in the enlargement and contraction of the vagina. Outermost has a harder connective tissue and wraps all other layers. With both the elderly and the birth, these muscles can tear, relax and as a result lose their ability to fully grip and flex. The inner mucosa of the vagina can also relax and expand.

Vaginal Tightening Surgery

In vaginal contraction surgery, firstly, it opens the mucosa and the muscles are reached, thus reducing the muscles to become more functional. This procedure provides both muscle narrowing and better muscle contraction. After this phase, the excess of the vaginal mucosa is removed and new vaginal mucosa is formed. The healing of the vaginal mucosa is completed very quickly within a week. However, sexual intercourse is not allowed for up to three weeks for full healing of the muscles. Two days after surgery, the person can easily return to normal life.

Since self-absorbing stitches are used during the procedure, it is not necessary to remove the stitches after the procedure.

Sexual Life After Vaginal Tightening Surgery

Restriction of sexual intercourse is required for 3 weeks after surgery. In this process, it is very important to pay maximum attention to sexual restraint. Because sexual intercourse performed before the end of 3 weeks may cause loosening of the vagina. In addition, the infection may develop as the incision site has not yet completed its healing. Sewing may open and severe bleeding may occur. When the 6-week period ends, sexual intercourse is permitted.
